Grime Garms’ Top 5 Woolly Hats (October ’09)

So, it’s about to hit mid-October, not quite time to pull out the woolly hat yet, but come November, you may have to. It’s time to start thinking about it. So here, is my top 5, with a couple of styles taken into consideration…

1. Polo Ralph Lauren Black Ribbed Merino Beanie

polobeanie

You cannot really go wrong with a basic Ralph Lauren. Unless of course, it’s fake. If so, go back to sitting in your room and playing CoD4, as you can’t afford CoD5 you cheapskate.

This basic black woolly hate comes with a purple embroidered signature crest at the front of the hat. Pretty simple, pretty effective. £30 from My-Wardrobe.

2. Lyle & Scott Tipped Hat

Lyle & Scott are becoming a bit TOO common for my liking. Like Ralph Lauren, too many people jumping on the bandwagon, and buying fakes. But this little beanie hat has quite impressed me. I like the blue trim the hat has on the ‘dove grey’ as it’s described. Not too pricey at £29. Available at End Clothing.

3. King Apparel ID Earflap Beanie

Originally, I chose the blue version of this as number 3 in the top 5, but I’ve come to the decision of the black version. Over the past couple of years, since the arrival of N-Dubz, this sort of hat has been given the nickname ‘Dappy Hat’. Everyone from your little cousin, to the goons in the corner of the playground has one now. One of the reasons I’ve included this hat. Just incase you wanted a ‘Dappy Hat’ this winter. Bargain at only £11.99 from King Apparel. Don’t forget to check out the alternative version in blue!

4. Stussy Stars & Stripes Beanie

I said I’d include a couple of varieties of hats, so, here’s the bobble hat. The grey hat with a mixture of orange and white knitted into it. This has to be one of the best bobble hats I’ve seen in a while. I’m not a HUGE fan of them myself. Check out Adidas’ version this year, and you’ll find out why… Like the rest of the hats, close to the £30 mark at £28 for this hat. Purchase from Urban Industry.

5. Brixton Heist Beanie

Last, but not least, the basic beanie hat. Everyone has to have one, and it has to be a nice one at least. Here we have the Brixton Heist Beanie in the Charcoal colour. Not much to write about this one. It’s so simple, yet effective. Only £15, another number ready to buy at Urban Industry.

  1. [...] Chip wearing it whilst shopping. Thanks for the save Chips. Somehow I missed this hat for the ‘Top 5 Woolly Hats’ article. I don’t know how I did, but I did. This would have certainly knocked the Ralphy off [...]
