Master Shortie and Just Eat It Tee by Pins
Here’s a little bit about the brand, ‘Pins’…
The artist formally know as PINS, hails from South London, a birthplace for a hefty amount of creative individuals. His roots lie in customised clothing using various application techniques from Airbrush and Spray can art to Swarovski crystals. Previous clients have included Usher, Kelly Rowland, Mariah Carey and Cheryl Cole to name but a few. At sweet 25, he has followed a progressive path from completing a BA HONS Fashion with Business Degree, a year later winning Best Customiser of the Year 2006, selling his clothing at festivals such as Glastonbury/Bestival and various fashion/music events. PINS has also provided his artistic talents to various schools/community based organisations in various parts of London, where he has designed and delivered programmes for Creative Workshops allowing young people to actively take part and express themselves creatively.
The Brand
A serious brand with playful intentions… The PINS brand is based on exclusive clothing and art fused together by initial concepts inspired by everyday life. Using photography and his bold illustration style, PINS is able to convey his thoughts and create the desired meaning. PINS also understands the importance of keeping production of work to limited numbers and maintaining exclusivity in product.
The Donuts
PINS world is where Food and Trainers take centre stage. His passion for both is pretty immense, and is getting worse day by day. PINS uses donuts and trainers in his work to represent various ideas about desire, consumption, love, money, success and randomness; all of which are themes actively explored in his work.
“I have come to the conclusion that I feel almost the same as I do when I visit my local Krispy Kremes and choose my favourite donut as I do when I go to Size (Sneaker land!) and select my favourite pair of kicks. The experience is almost the same, you take a deep breath as you go in, you are presented with a range of styles/flavours to pick from, your belly rumbles, and you decide which one(s) to select…you gotta feed your creativity!”
Pins are another great UK brand, so make sure you support them and have a look at their online store. I’ve put a couple of their other designs below…
