Founded in 1999, THTC (The Hemp Trading Company) is an ethically driven underground clothing label, specialising in eco-friendly, politically conscious hemp street wear. THTC is the brainchild of brothers Dru and Gav Lawson, and Dan Sodergren, who is no longer with the company. Spotting a gap in the fashion market, the trio researched the viability of producing a line of environmentally friendly, ethically produced garments and THTC was born. The company now has a basic infrastructure and team with skills in marketing, economics and finance to successfully turn an interest into a professional and ethical business.

In a nutshell they believe in using hemp instead of cotton. To find out why this video documentary explains it all.

This isn’t just a ‘nice’ company doing their bit for the environment. Their designs are levelling too. THTC’s ‘The Harder They Come’ t-shirt made number 8 on our recent list of TUKS Magazine’s Top 20 UK Streetwear Graphic T-Shirts. Here are a few of THTC’s latest releases.

Sole Heaven says that their aim is to “give the British public footwear to be proud of” and they haven’t gone far wrong with these new Navy Bandits from Supra. They went on sale from the Sole Heaven’s online store today (3rd September) at noon for £65. The trainers feature a skate functional boot ‘inspired’ mid-top (although I wouldn’t wanna mess ‘em up skating), a suede and canvas upper and an extra set of white laces. Enjoy the photos.

I don’t think I have written about Drop Dead Clothing before but they are doing some really big stuff. Their blog has had over 800,000 hits and their collection features t-shirts, hoodies, caps, jackets, vest, basically everything.

“VersaEmerge is a three-piece rock band originating from Port St. Lucie, Florida, USA, currently signed to the label Fueled By Ramen. They have Three EP’s, Cities Built On Sand, Perceptions and VersaEmerge, and their debut album, Fixed at Zero was released June 22nd, 2010. VersaEmerge came together after the two founding members’ previous band, My Fair Verona, broke up.”

Lead singer Sierra Kusterbeck was recently seen wearing Drop Dead Clothing and this is what brought the brand to my attention. After searching through their online store I have found a load of quality pieces from their latest collection, which you can see below.

Featuring over 120 one-off pieces, some of which are being sold, it is well worth getting yourself down for a look. With their AW10 collection dropping very soon F2D Clothing have leaked some preview photos of their new range of bodywarmers/gilets. They have just received these samples and are predicted healthy sales figures when released. Gilets became massively popular last year after the famous Jack Wills hype and this trend looks all set to continue this winter. They have five colourways available; black and white, black on black, navy blue, grey/marl and red. Check Fresh 2 Def Clothing out on their website and here are the images.

We all know about The Reset 4 so I wont even bother telling you about it. A number of brands have been uploading their photos of the event recently so TUKS decided to collate them all into a single post of images. I’ve split them up into brands and general photos. The UK streetwear scene is full of top quality graphic t-shirts so we decided to do a list of our favourites. It was meant to be a top ten but this was extended to twenty very quickly. This list is based purely on the designs. Price wasn’t taken into account. It’s worth saying that picking twenty t-shirts from all the UK brands was hard enough but then putting them in order was something else. We changed our minds a lot. Here is what we ended up with. It feels like ages since I’ve done a ‘Grime Garms’ post but this one was handed to me on a plate by the good guys over at The Ugly Kids Club. Here we have Footsie (half of Newham Generals) performing at the HotOneTen x Bullet Train carnival party. He is wearing one of The Ugly Kids Club’s most famous designs seen previously on other UK artists such as Chipmunk. The ‘Roll With The Ugly’ t-shirt is their flagship print and they released a load of new colourways for SS10, including this one, the grey t-shirt with purple, blue and pink Rizla wrappers. I assume that most people have seen the long list of colabs Size? have been knocking out for their 10 year anniversary. The first Nike Blazer pack was released on 21st August in white and black. The next Blazer pack will feature a bright orange (with white trim) colourway that in my opinion looks amazing. The trainer has a full suede upper and apparently the inner sole has Size? logos all over it (not that we’ve seen a pair). This one drops on 11th September and is limited to 300 pairs, obviously exclusive to Size? So get yourself over to the Size online store on to your nearest Size? and enjoy these pictures. Babycakes is definately a brand that you either love or hate. Their brightly coloured cartoon-style designs have quite a ‘childish’ look to them (which isn’t a par). Maybe they target their designs more towards the female market, I don’t know. Anyway however you feel about them you can’t knock their latest offer. A free babybolt t-shirt (worth £19.99) with every order before Friday 3rd September. The more I browse through their online store the more I like the designs on there. The revolt t-shirt range is pretty well designed and bubble items are pretty standard. Below are a few of my favourite (and least favourite) designs. Can you tell them apart?
